Taste of Denver

My first adventure with my bike on a plane was better than expected. That hard case is pretty darn heavy though.

This year has given me a lot of opportunities to travel. With family in Denver and a free place to stay Aaron and I packed it bags and took off.

What made this trip to Denver special was that I got to bring my bike on a plane for the first time!

The weather in Denver was much cooler and welcomed than our three-digit numbers in Phoenix. Even with the rain hanging in the sky we decided to take the plunge and explore a bit of the bike paths between Wheat Ridge and Golden.

We did get caught in the rain a bit, but it was all worth it.

Downtown Denver and in between, we were welcomed by many amazing murals.

We didn't have any major goals, we were just riding for fun. When we got to the State Capitol we opened up the delicious bottle of wine from Geyser Peak Vineyard and found a huge tree to rest under. The wine was tasty and crisp, a perfect treat during the first portion of our ride.

After our beverages, Aaron and I continued ok, back toward Wheat Ridge where we met up with his cousin who would join us for the last part of the ride to Golden.

We met at Anderson Park and biked on the Clear Creek Trail all the way to Golden to have a beer and lunch at Mountain Road Brewing. We passed the Coors Factory. Not going to lie, the smell for about two miles was a bit nauseating.

With the rain coming down harder than we wanted it to, we got a ride home to dry off.

The 31 miles were much appreciated before we have to head back to hot weather.
